Known internally as a Senior People Services Administrator, the Senior HR Administrator role is responsible for supervising and supporting the People Services Administration team while working closely with the People Services Manager to develop and improve the function. Alongside leading the team, you will provide a professional and efficient HR administration service to colleagues and managers across the business and support a variety of People Team projects.

This is a busy and fast-paced role requiring excellent organisation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively while maintaining exceptional service standards.

MAIN DUTIES

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise and support the People Services Administration team to deliver excellent customer service and high performance standards
  • Manage day-to-day team activities, workload allocation, and resource planning to ensure team KPIs and SLAs are achieved
  • Conduct regular 1-2-1 meetings, annual reviews, and probationary meetings
  • Support the training, induction, and ongoing development of team members
  • Manage holiday and absence requests, including return-to-work discussions where required
  • Keep the team informed of relevant legislation updates and business changes

HR Administration

  • Ensure all new starter details, paperwork, and approvals are received and processed accurately
  • Issue contracts and onboarding documentation within agreed timeframes
  • Complete Right to Work checks and background screening to ensure compliance before start dates
  • Maintain Access SelectHR and other HR systems accurately
  • Act as a central point of contact for HR administration queries and monitor the People Services inbox
  • Support the Payroll & Benefits team with payroll-related administration and project work

Continuous Improvement

  • Review and improve existing HR administration processes and procedures
  • Conduct internal audits and quality checks to maintain data integrity and compliance
  • Identify training opportunities to improve team performance and service delivery
  • Support managers and colleagues with HR systems and policy-related processes where needed

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone with existing generalist HR administration experience who thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in delivering a high-quality service.

You’ll be:

  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet tight deadlines
  • Confident working with confidential information and maintaining professionalism at all times
  • Detail-oriented with excellent accuracy and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive team player who is eager to learn and continuously improve processes
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Ideally you will also have line management/supervision experience of a HR team, however we are willing to consider exceptional candidates without this experience who are looking to take the next step in their HR career.

A good understanding of GDPR and data retention legislation is also essential. Previous experience using Access HR systems and/or studying towards a CIPD qualification would be highly advantageous.

You will be based at our Head Office in Enderby, Leicester, with the opportunity to work from home for a couple of days each week following successful completion of your probationary period subject to business needs.
