What You'll Be Doing

The Software Integration Developer - Microsoft / C# .NET is responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting software systems, primarily using Microsoft development platforms including .NET (Core and Framework), SQL Server, and Azure.

The role focuses on building and supporting web integrations and APIs, working with internal teams and third-party systems to deliver reliable and effective software solutions. This position is suited to a developer with solid commercial experience who is looking to further develop their skills in cloud-based and integration-focused development.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning, managing and outcomes / deliverables from concept to transition into support. 

• Delivering documentation such as HLD, LLD, implementation documents and knowledgebase articles 

• Handover of outcomes / deliverables to colleagues within the team (both on-shore and off-shore)

• Work with internal teams and external partners to deliver software solutions

• Develop and maintain software systems and integrations using Microsoft technologies
• Work with internal teams and external partners to deliver effective software solutions
• Support and enhance existing systems, ensuring reliability and performance
• Contribute to the design and implementation of integrations and APIs
• Follow best practices and coding standards to ensure high-quality solutions
• Assist in identifying opportunities for process and system improvements
• Participate in code reviews and team knowledge sharing

Core Requirements

• Commercial experience developing applications using C# (.NET Core and/or .NET Framework)
• Experience working with Microsoft technologies
• Exposure to Azure services (such as Functions, Web Apps, or Storage)
• Knowledge of MS SQL Server and basic Transact-SQL
• Familiarity with Entity Framework or similar ORM tools
• Experience working with Web Services (REST APIs; SOAP knowledge beneficial but not essential)
• Understanding of coding best practices (e.g., SOLID principles)
• Experience using Git for source control
• Basic understanding of unit testing concepts
• Ability to understand and work from technical requirements
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good written and verbal communication skills

Whilst not essential, we are especially keen to hear from candidates who can also demonstrate experience with Azure Service Bus or messaging concepts, awareness of API security concepts (ie, OAuth2), exposure to Azure DevOps or CI/CD pipelines, experience of working within an Agile development environment, and /or Microsoft certifications (or working towards).
